The Institute of ICT Professionals, Ghana (IIPGH) a non-profit professional body made up of members in various domains of Information and Communication Technology (ICT) practice and Delta3 International Ltd a UK listed expert in I.T Solution Architecture, Cyber security and Risk mitigation Consultancy firm on Tuesday 19th December 2017 signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to work together to promote Cyber Security awareness for corporate, government, security agencies, students and the general public.
IIPGH with its big pull of ICT professionals in the various specialties of Cyber Security and Delta3 an internationally recognized Cyber Security firm with experience of working with governments and businesses in Europe and Africa to protect their brand, value and reputation against the ever-evolving threat landscape would work to ignite the needed synergies to tackle cyber-crimes and educate the public on how to be safe and protected while online.
The issue of cyber-crime has become an important issue on the minds of government and other corporate organization in the wake of recent cyber-attacks on major international organization in Europe, America and other places. The Government of Ghana has recently taken steps through the Ministry of Communications to appoint a cyber security coordinator. Furthermore in October 2017, the Ministry of Communications organized a weeklong National Cyber week where the National Cyber-Security Inter-Ministerial Advisory Council was inaugurated.
IIPGH and Delta3 recognized the need to support government’s efforts in this endeavor by providing training for employees in both public and private organizations especially those handling data or working on any system that is connected or networked. With the Cyber Security experts at the disposal of these two organizations, massive and effective campaign and education can be fashioned out to get the public cyber aware.
The Ag. Executive Director of the Institute of ICT Professionals Mr. David Gowu signed the MoU on behalf of the institute whiles Mr. Del Aden the Managing Partner of Delta3 International Ltd signed on behalf of his company.
The purpose of this MOU is to establish the terms and conditions under which both organizations would collaborate to provide training in Cyber Security and other related fields. In addition for both organizations to work together in other areas of professional services in ICT.
