The Institute of ICT Professionals Ghana (IIPGH) is proud to announce its selection for the 2024-2026 Cohort of the Scratch Education Collaborative (SEC) by the Scratch Foundation. This prestigious recognition marks a significant milestone for IIPGH, as IIPGH joins a distinguished group of 55 organizations from 23 countries, chosen from over 350 applicants worldwide.
The Coding Caravan 2024 in Osudoku District embraced the theme “Breaking Barriers: Coding, Leadership, and Inclusion for All”. The event aimed to spark a passion for ICT among 200 students and 29 teachers by introducing them to the fundamentals of coding and hands-on technology projects. Interactive sessions were designed to be educational and engaging, ensuring a memorable experience for everyone involved. The impact of the Coding Caravan 2024 was evident in the enthusiasm and active participation of students. Students expressed excitement about the interactive lessons and the new skills they acquired. Teachers appreciated the interactivity and the opportunity to enhance their ICT knowledge.
Our theme for this conference, “Unifying ICT Talent to Power the African Continent to 2030 and Beyond,” underscores the urgency and importance of our mission. Africa stands on the brink of a digital revolution, and it is our collective responsibility to ensure that this transformation benefits all its people, leaving no one behind.
Scratch is a visual programming language and online community platform developed by the Lifelong Kindergarten Group at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT). The primary idea behind developing Scratch was to create an accessible and interactive environment that would enable individuals, especially children and beginners, to learn the basics of computer programming in a fun and engaging way.
The event, organized by the Institute of ICT Professionals Ghana (IIPGH) in partnership with digiCAP.gh, is planned to take place this Friday 28th July 2023, at the R.S. Amegashie Auditorium, University of Ghana Business School (UGBS), Legon. The afternoon event in collaboration with the UGBS, starts from 2 pm to 5 pm, themed, “Transforming Businesses with Data Analytics and AI: the Role of Industry and Academia”.
